Watsons Move Your Body Zumba Breaks The Malaysia Book of Record

Asia’s leading health and beauty retailer once again gathered the largest Zumba gathering with its highly successful and record breaking Move Your Body Zumba event. This health initiative presented by Watsons Malaysia attained the Malaysia Book of Record for the 
Largest Participation for Glow in the Dark Zumba– a one of its kind achievement with 5360 registered participants

This time around, Watsons Move Your Body Zumba brought a new level of fun and exciting
experience for Zumba enthusiasts with a glow in the night theme and timely to celebrate the Watson’s group 175th Anniversary celebration. This is the second record achieved byWatsons Move Your Body when it successfully received the Malaysia Book of Record for the largest participation in Zumba held last year in Penang with more than 7,000 participants.

Malaysia in her welcoming address to all participants.
 
The 2016 edition heldat Sunway Lagoon Surf Beach saw the enthusiastic Zumba participants sweating it all out with Zumba routines in collaboration with Zumba Fitness, the governing body for Zumba worldwide with its headquarters in Florida, United States.
“For the third year running, Watsons Move Your Body is becoming an iconic event and as
such we want to provide our customers the reward of money can’t buy experience with
international renowned Zumba instructors and a line-up of top DJs to entertain,”explained
Danny Hoh, Head of Marketing, Watsons Malaysia.
 
The thematic Zumba beach party with ‘Glow in the Dark’ theme was hosted by Hitz FM radio announcer Arnold who hyped up the night with stage activities and lucky draws.
The Watsons Move Your Body Zumba session began and wasled by two Zumba Education Specialists, David Velez from Colombia and Michael Thomas from Australia.

At the end of the Zumba session, the Malaysia Book of Record certificate presentation was
awarded to Watsons Malaysia and was received by Caryn and Danny. The presentation was witness together by Watsons Malaysia management team and the Zumba instructors to signify the success of Watsons Move Your Body Zumba.
 
The event continued to provide Zumba participants more excitement with non-stop DJ
spinning from top DJ line up including Jakeman & Skeletor, Leng Yein, Chuckiess &
Whackboi and H3.

GUARDIAN TEAMS UP WITH LA GOURMET TO RAISE FUNDS FOR AUTISM Offers Special Hand-Drawn Thermal Ware Products

Guardian Malaysia is pitching in to support autism with a special range of La Gourmet thermal ware that are printed with birds sketched by local autistic talent, Muhammad Akhtar bin Ismail, or Akhtar for short.


This special range of merchandise, made available exclusively to Guardian Malaysia, can be redeemed under a loyalty programme rolled out on Wednesday 6 October 2016.


Unveiling the programme, at the Kuala Lumpur Bird Park, today, Ms Christina Low, Marketing Director of Guardian Health and Beauty Sdn Bhd said: “The programme has been inspired by a special group in our community. It is driven by our goal of giving back to the community; to our customers and especially those in need. In this regard, we will be allocating RM200,000 from this programme as contribution to the Skill Development Fund, managed by The National Autism Society of Malaysia (NASOM).”


Sharing an insight into Guardian Malaysia’s philosophy on corporate responsibility, she said: “We recognise that as the leader in the pharmacy, health and beauty retailing sector, we are uniquely placed to harness the charitable nature of Malaysians, to contribute to worthy causes.


“With over 400 stores across the country serving a huge customer base, and the support of a wide network of business partners, Guardian provides a far greater reach than most other retailers. And it has been our policy to use this reach to help raise funds for as many charitable causes as possible.”

“This programme, will similarly leverage on Guardian’s reach to raise funds for NASOM’s skills development programme with the aim of training autistic children to be gainfully employed. In the process, we also aim to raise awareness of the special needs of this group in our community,” she added.


Ms Low expressed confidence that the programme would receive favourable response from shoppers for several reasons.



In addition to the fact that the product showcases Malaysian birds as part of the series, it also supports a local autistic talent, and raise awareness their special need.


She said: “This Bird Series Thermal Ware merchandise is exclusive to Guardian’s customers. On top of that, they get to enjoy savings of 62% on the retail price of the items, such as tumblers, lunch boxes and thermal cups.”



“This loyalty programme to offer a highly collectible range of high quality merchandise, at affordable prices, is in keeping with our tradition of delivering innovative and exciting value propositions to our customers. A tradition that started 49 years ago when Guardian opened its first store,” she added.


DETAILS OF LOYALTY PROGRAMME

La Gourmet, a brand which has committed to producing products that promote a healthy lifestyle and presenting the environment, has produced 3 different Bird Series, for this collaboration. Guardian is making one series available each month, for the duration of the programme, from 6 October to 31 December, 2016. 


Consumers only need to make a purchase of RM20 to receive one stamp. Once they have collected 5 stamps, they can redeem purchase any of the merchandises at prices which gives them a savings of 62% from the usual retail prices.
